Senior/Supervising Geologist

Our client is seeking experienced geologists to work in Coal. Exploration supervision experience is required. This firm has an excellent industry reputation in Australia and abroad.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the delivery of critical geological knowledge through the planning & supervision of exploration programs and the collation & interpretation of results.
Experience in the following would be well regarded:

  • Drill Rig Supervision
  • Coal geology
  • Drilling techniques
  • Database Management
  • Geophysical log interpretation

Additional industry requirements for the role

  • S11
  • Coal Board Medical
  • Mine Site Safety Supervisor
  • 1st Aid Certificate
  • 4WD Certificate

Successful candidates will be degree qualified, (Geology/Geoscience), be able to demonstrate superior communication and organisation skills and have a high level of computer literacy. A full manual driver’s licence is required. 5+ years Experience in the Coal Industry is required.

Positions are Brisbane based and will require travel to exploration sites as required.

Part Time Lab Technician

Brisbane

Our client currently has a position for an experienced Laboratory Technician to work part time in the Coal/CSG Laboratory, and be available for Site work if required. Ideally you will have experience working in a similar environment. 

 
To be successful in this role you will need a strong attention to detail, the ability to show initiative and strong communication skills in dealing with clients, suppliers and other members of the team.
 
Previous Experience working as a Chemist/Lab Technician in a Coal/CSG Testing and Analysis Laboratory is preferred along with the following attributes:
Diploma in Laboratory Technology or Cert IV in Laboratory Techniques preferred. 
Diligent work practices and positive attitude toward safety is a must.
Experience with Excel is beneficial.
 
Site work may be involved.
Must hold a current manual C class Driver’s Licence.
Emerald based. Relevant coal generic inductions would be an advantage. Right to work in Australia required.

Exploration Geologists

Experienced (1-5 Years in coal) exploration Geologists required for projects commencing immediately. Successful candidates will be degree qualified (Geology/Geoscience), be able to demonstrate superior communication and organisational skills and have a high level of computer literacy, a full manual driver’s license.

Positions are field based and will require travel to exploration sites in remote locations as required. Candidates with an appropriate suite of competencies available for an immediate start will be strongly considered. Certificates and competencies may include the following;

  • S11 Induction

CSG Wellsite Geologists

GeoConsult are looking for experienced Wellsite Geologists for established CSG Projects

Knowledge of Directional drilling is critical to accepting your application.  

The right candidate should have:

  • A degree in Geology.
  • Worked as a Wellsite Geologist with experience on directional drilling projects.  
  • Minimum of 5 years plus experience as a CSG Wellsite Geologist. 
  • Clear understanding and hands on experience of microscopic descriptions.
  • Creating Strip logs of geology sections.
  • A solid understanding of rigs and its drilling components for daily reporting.
  • Managing and interpreting field data.
  • Geophysical supervision and interpretation of logs.
  • Coal Coring experience.
  • Knowledge about Drill Stem Tests.
  • A team player with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills.

Bookkeeper – Administration Officer

Brisbane

Our client is seeking an energetic Bookkeeper/Administration officer to join their Brisbane consultancy based at Newstead for a 5 days per week part-time position.

  • Invoicing, Payroll, time sheets and payables – using MYOB.
  • Bank reconciliations and office administration for a group of companies, including travel and accommodation bookings
  • Provisioning of field staff with equipment and vehicles, including arranging maintenance
  • Human Resource maintenance of training and certification records
  • Recent advanced MYOB proficiency is mandatory and will be tested at interview.
  • Experience and confidence using Microsoft SharePoint, Excel and Outlook is mandatory; and Acrobat Professional skills will be well regarded.

The professional offices are located in Newstead. Off-street parking is available; or it is a short walk to major rail and bus connections. Flexible hours may be available for this part-time role, but it will involve being present in the office each weekday.
